Two Bottles of Oregon Pinot Noir for your enjoyment!
2002 Scott Paul La Paulee (The Wine Advocate/Pierre Rovani 88): “There are 165 cases of the 2002 Pinot Noir La Paulee, produced from 12- to 13-year-old vines. Medium to dark ruby-colored, it sports a nose dominated by black cherries. On the palate, this beauty reveals an admirably silky texture, refined layers of dark fruits, and a seamless (yet short) finish.”  Editor’s note: Scott Paul told me years ago that his 2002 La Paulee was the best one he ever produced.  Kelley Fox was the winemaker.
2002 St. Innocent Freedom Hill Vineyard (The Advocate Pierre Rovani 94): “Armed with a robust nose of deep dark cherries and spices, the 2002 Pinot Noir Freedom Hill Vineyard is an intense, masculine, muscular counterpoint to the feminine, graceful Seven Springs. Big, broad, chunky, and dense, its powerful personality conquers the palate with thick layers of black cherries. This medium to full-bodied wine will require patience.”
